Time Management:
Do you ask yourself this question just about every day?
If you answer yes, you are not alone. Like so many of us, we start the day with great plans for what we will be accomplishing TODAY and 6 o’clock in the evening rolls around and our “To Do” list is almost as long as it was when we started the day and we wonder what happened? We were busy all day! But, the question is, “busy doing what?”
One of the biggest culprits for not getting things done is the dreaded procrastination. Procrastination has a life of its own and it is the biggest control freak and manipulator I know. Even when you swear that you are not going to procrastinate, it still controls you and it wins!
To beat that monster I have started to create little rewards for myself for completing the project that I would typically procrastinate about. These do not have to be big rewards. One is as simple as when I get the project done, I’ll treat myself to lunch away from my desk in the park near my office. Another is if I get all my projects done as scheduled; I’ll make time to go see a movie in the theatre with the family.
Along the theme of procrastination, I recently came across a great blog WeWork with some interesting tips on time management and productivity that I would like to share with you.
How do you manage procrastination and productivity? I would love to hear from you.
